Gay cruising dunes maspalomas
Is Maspalomas as weird as you’ve heard it is? Yes
Before I visited Maspalomas, I had heard about how the super homosexual Spanish resort town was built around a colossal mall full of homosexual pubs, gay show bars, gay cruising bars, sex clubs and underwear boutiques, which also contained multiple levels of mainstream shopping and restaurants. It seemed unlikely to me. But it exists: Yumbo Centrum, with more than 30 LGBTQ+ nightlife spots, envelops you like a Las Vegas casino, but with gay men instead of slot machines. If you like what you watch, you’ll never want to leave.
But then again, there’s so much unlikely about Maspalomas, one of the gayest and also weirdest beach resort destinations in the world, Yumbo Centrum makes perfect sense. Please note: I’m going to first complain about Maspalomas, then get to what makes it a amusement place to visit.
Located on the south end of the island of Gran Canaria, one of eight main islands in a Spanish-governed archipelago just off the coast of Morocco, Maspalomas was developed in the s to be a special kind of tourist destination. Much of the architecture is Brutalist concrete, in which the businesses seem kinda disoriented. No thatched-roof tiki-style kiosks

Dunes Maspalomas
The sand dunes of Maspalomas are really lovely and very good for pictures. The part behind the gay beach has vegetation too, and is not surprisingly very cruisy.
update: it's forbidden to abandon the official tracks in the dunes. Nature police patrols the dunes now and then.
The quickest way to reach the queer beach is to accept a taxi to Faro (the lighthouse) and then walk for about 20 minutes. Many guys however prefer the walking road through the dunes. Especially on the way advocate from the beach.
Towards the gay beach you depart through the Riu Palace Hotel at the brain of the Avenida de Tirajana. Seen from the viewing point the homosexual beach is at about 3 o'clock direction. (go right and towards the sea). The main route through the dunes is a normal walking route, if you make a detour to the right you enter the massive cruising zone.
The cruising area is very big, and many guys keep walking. Tourists walk around in their swimwear or totally naked. You can recognise the local guys as they tend to wear more clothes.
The dunes gets most busy at the end of a beach day, at around On windy days when the beach is not content to go, the dunes are also popular fo
