Boulevard of Broken Dreams: The Life, Times, and Legend of James Dean
James Dean biopic in works on his alleged adoration with writer William Bast
Hollywood icon James Dean's personal life will presumably be explored in a motion picture that will be adapted from writer William Bast's memoir, Surviving James Dean, reported The Hollywood Whistleblower.
Writer and filmmaker Guy Guido has acquired the rights to late creator William Bast’s memoir. Guido is yet to finalise the casting for the same.
As per reports, Bast described Dean as a lover who he met at age 19. Bast claimed that their relationship developed from organism roommates to eventually becoming lovers. Bast had also claimed that he and Dean kept their connection secret to protect Dean's image and career.

James Dean died in 1995. He was 24. His two classics, Giant and Rebel Without a Cause, were released posthumously.
“I possess been a fan and historian of James Dean since I was 18 years old, so I knew about his ‘friend’ Willie, even when facts about their relationship was straight-washed by the Hollywood machine. As a filmmaker, I love telling the story of a celebrity’s life in their coming-of-age period. As a same-sex attracted man, I was particularly drawn to
James Dean was blackmailed by gay lover
According to "Jimmy: The Secret Life of James Dean", Dean had worked as a parking attendant next to CBS Studios in 1951. There he met Rogers Brackett, the producer of a radio drama entitled "Alias Jane Doe". He offered the 15 years younger beau a supporting role in his show - and at the matching time, the opportunity to move into his home.
"Feelings always hidden"
Colavito: "Although Dean had always hidden his feelings (about men), Brackett was able to unwrap this very guarded, closed door with him."
After a year, Dean moved to New York, where Brackett lent him 450 dollars for hotels and 700 dollars for gifts and other expenses. Through Brackett's connections, Dean landed a role on Broadway in 1952, which led to his big breakthrough in Hollywood.
Dean ignored Brackett as a result. Until the latter visited him shortly before the premiere of "Beyond Eden" in 1954 and "demanded the funds, the loan back from him". Dean refused to pay and accused Brackett of having taken superiority of him sexually.
Out-of-court settlement
Whereupon Brackett sued Dean in a New York court for 1400 dollars. In order to prevent his homosexual affair from
My Life with James Dean, Queer gaze and whether cinema should be categorised into inclusive labels
In the 25 June column, written on the occasion of Pride month, I wrote, “There are, of course, many filmmakers who are homosexual, but it’s engaging to explore whether this ‘gayness’ manifests itself in the films they form, and what really makes for a ‘gay film’. Is there a particular gay sensibility that’s apparent, even if the material is hetero-normative? Is it that the film has a gay protagonist, or is about LGBTQI issues?” And if the story would play just the same had the characters been straight, then is it really a ‘queer gaze’, or a ‘queer movie’?
As though by way of an answer, I received a screener of Dominique Choisy’s My Being with James Dean, a 2017 French film that premiered at Chéries-Chéris, the annual international LGBTQI motion picture festival in Paris. Given the Supreme Court’s historic verdict on Section 377, it seemed a excellent time to talk about this film, and this issue. First, the premise. Géraud Champreux (Johnny Rasse), a gay filmmaker from Lyons, is invited to exhibit his film, titled My Life with James Dean, in three cinema houses around Normandy. At the firs
