NCIS: Hawai’i’s Cancellation Is A Massive Loss For One Important Aspect Of The Franchise

Summary

  • NCIS: Hawai'i's cancelation is a huge deficit for LGBTQ+ representation in primetime TV & for the NCIS franchise as a whole.
  • The relationship between Kate and Lucy in NCIS: Hawai'i added depth & legitimacy to LGBTQ+ representation on screen.
  • The absence of positive representation of LGBTQ+ characters in a massive franchise like NCIS is a significant decrease for diversity.

The cancelation of NCIS: Hawai'i is a massive loss for one important aspect of the NCIS franchise. The island-themed NCIS spinoff was on air for just three seasons, a compact lifespan within a franchise that regularly launches spinoffs that last at least twice that long. While the decision leaves NCIS: Hawai'i characters like Jane Tennant with unfinished storylines, it is also a disappointing development for the franchise's commitment to diversity.

NCIS: Hawai'i first aired on CBS in 2021, and it

well here's a thread with a lot of care

I was checking that I hadn't mixed up the character & thespian name before by googling 'Tammy Gregorio' & discovered she's meant to be a lesbian but she used to be married . Obviously there are people who discover their sexuality later in experience & I should also give the show & character a chance before making judgements but a part of me still feels the need to question why she needs to be a sapphic. Her husband sounds love an evil guy from what I just watched at the end of the ep that I was just watching & what I was reading (which was basically the same thing) but that doesn't mean she didn't genuinely love him? While its wonderful that there is a gay main character (its probably about time the franchise had one) why couldn't she be bisexual? She has the history of a relationship with a gentleman & when I gain to it she'll contain the female relationship. She could be bisexual & then never ever hang out another guy, it just would say that she was attracted to her ex-husband, that there was actual love between them. Maybe I'm just bias in my being a bisexual & having a desire to see my sexuality actually shown in shows &am
